Red for stop? not quite….
A pause at Toddingtons outer home signal on what may well have been 7820’s penultimate day in service in late September. Soon after this shot she was withdrawn from service for investigative works as part of a potential boiler extension inspection just prior to the expiry of her 10 year certificate or for overhaul depending on the outcome of the aforementioned inspection.
We are very pleased to able to say that as of Monday 23rd October’s hot exam we are now ‘green to go!’ with an extension through to January 2025 Just reward for our hard working teams efforts over recent weeks to achieve this whilst also maintaining progress on 3850 in preparation for her to be reunited with her boiler very shortly.
Another significant milestone on 30th October with the successful completion of hydraulic testing for 3850’s boiler earlier this morning. Successful steam testing followed and the transport of 3850’s frames for fitment of the boiler is now being arranged. Photos courtesy of Greg McGill of Rileys.
