You may be aware that a video was released by one of the groups campaigning on the EU referendum in which 7820 Dinmore Manor was clearly identified.
We wish to make it clear that this was done without our prior knowledge or consent – the message below released jointly by ourselves and the Dartmouth Steam Railway and Riverboat Company explains the background
To Whom it may concern.
On Saturday 18th of June permission was given to film on the Dartmouth Steam Railway to film from the front of the service loco, which was 7820 Dinmore Manor. The brief of the filming was to obtain footage passing through Greenway tunnel to give the tag line to a Vote to Leave campaign video, “The light at the end of the tunnel”. With no links to the loco, the railway or any persons in either organisation. ie. A non specific tunnel.
Dinmore Manor is clearly seen in the footage, but both Dinmore Manor Ltd and the Dartmouth Steam Railway and Riverboat Company wish to state that neither have any connections to any political party or campaign and at all times are in a neutral position with no political agenda.
There was a payment made for permission to film. As stated with no political agenda, the request for payment was requested to be made directly to a leading cancer charity, which also has no political connections.
Both Dinmore Manor Ltd and the DSRRB apologise if there has been any offence caused to any of their members and supporters by the release of this footage.
