The restoration of 3850 was completed in 2006 and the locomotive is now
regularly operating trains on the West Somerset Railway.

7820 on the move! Four years since the expiry of Dinmore Manor's boiler certificate No. 7820 has moved again.... Dinmore Manor was towed to the West Somerset Restoration works at Williton on the evening of the 18th of September for inital dismantling and internal examination of her boiler. Meanwhile 3850 has, up to the end of August, covered some 23,800 miles since entering traffic on the WSR in May 2006. 3850 was stopped in late may when sudden abnormal levels of flangewear were observed. By mid July and with the cause identified and rectified 3850 re-entered traffic just in time to haul the heavy trains at the commencement of the "Gold" timetable and has been in daily use, except for washouts, since. Dinmore Manor Locomotive Ltd. volunteers have been steadily working on the tender which is to be paired with Dinmore Manor once her overhaul is complete at a private site in the Midlands. Work has centred on the re-furbishment of the brake gear and the preparation and painting of the main frames. An outside contract order has been placed for a new 3,500 gallon tank, dragbox and front frame sections, these items are now in progress and it is hoped will be delivered by the turn of the year ready for fitment to the chassis. Dinmore Manor Locomotive Ltd. directors and members will be present with our stand at the WSR Autumn Steam Gala on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 3rd, 4th and 5th of October on the platform at Minehead to answer any questions you may have and to promote our "New Horizons Appeal" We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.
