The restoration of 3850 was completed in 2006 and the locomotive is now
regularly operating trains on the West Somerset Railway.
After nine years and 78,635 miles on the West Somerset Railway, 7820 is now at Williton for initial strip down and commencement of her overhaul.

7820 Overhaul Progress In late December at West Somerset Restorations, Williton, 7820's boiler was lifted from the frames ready for de-tubing and preperation for examination, some external preparation that was possible with the boiler still in the frames has been carried out prior to removal. Once the extent of works required is known then a programme of work can be put into place and implemented so that the boiler can be re-united with the frames, ready to go, by our target date of late 2011.
Away from Williton work has commenced on the re-furbishment of boiler fittings and preparation of the tender frames for repair sections to be let in and the installation of a new drag box.
Some time ago we had a new chimney cast for 7820 which has recently been machined to accept the blower ring and was just awaiting the manufacture and fitting of the copper cap before being complete. However, recently an original Manor chimney in excellent condition, purchased from Barry Scrapyard and originally fitted to 7819 'Hinton Manor' appeared for sale through a railwayana site . We are delighted to announce that we were succesful in purchasing this item and to be able to return it to use for what it was originally intended rather than a flowerpot!
3850 continued to run extensively and reliably throughout the tail end of the season achieving a total for the year of just over 10,000 miles.
